Amidst the confusion of the times, the conflicts of conscience, and the turmoil of daily living, an abiding faith becomes an anchor to our lives. Thomas S. Monson

Second Grade Knowledge
I asked Luke what he has been learning about at school today and he said, "Well, I used to think humans were at the top of the food chain, but now I know it's really polar bears." I said, "Oh really, do polar bears eat people?" "Mom, you know there aren't any people other than santa and elves at the north pole and they are protected....sheesh."

One of My Favorite Faces
As I wrote my yearly resolutions, one was to blog more often, and another was to spend less time on the computer. So here's my first quick effort of both. I was just going through some photos and ran across this one. I love this face. He is the only one of my three boys who will always let me test a shot on him. This was taken on his very birthday and you can see the excitement in his eyes of turning five. This is going to be an amazing year. I look forward to what the Lord has in store for me and my family.

Happy Birthday Harrison!
My sweet little man is five. He actually turned five on Sunday and we celebrated his and Baby Z's birthdays together on Friday with all the aunts, uncles, cousins, and gradparents who live nearby. I always have a supreme sense of guilt that I am taking precious holiday time away from family members, but I really appreciate everyone coming over and celebrating my wonderful December boys.
Everyday is a new adventure with this cutie patootie. He now prefers to be called "Harrison" but he will still answer to "Harry." He told me yesterday it bothers him that Harry Potter has the same name, so he would like to be called Harrison. I've also learned that he introduces himself as Harrison to people. Why is your five-year old introducing himself to people, you might ask. Well it's usually people like the Comcast guy who came to fix our internet, or random people he meets in the line at Walmart while I am self-checking out.

He is having a ball at the Monkey Tree Preschool and has made some great friends. He is really mad at me that he isn't at a second grade reading level yet. Somehow, I have failed at teaching him to read....nevermind all the "Teach Your Kid to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" I tried to force down his throat in the summertime to give him a jump on preschool.
Harry, or should I say Harrison, is becoming a sweet big brother to Baby Z who really isn't a baby anymore, and he and Luke are pretty much inseparable most of the time. They love playing with the neighbors and Harry counts down the minutes until Luke gets home from school so they can play.
I love my little muse, and I am grateful he digs getting in front of my camera for me. I have, by far, more pictures of him than either of the other kids. He also has an eye of his own and has recently taken to making mini-movies with the video function on his point-and-shoot. I sense a Flip is in order someday with him. He is so creative, he has better handwriting than his big brother, and he is as sweet as he wants to be. I always hope he wakes up on the sweet side of his bed, and most of the time he does.

Picture Today - I Love Black and Whites
These are just a few from a wedding I shot last week. I really love black and white and if all we had was film, like in the old days when we got married, I would always by black and white film. Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. I will be a better blogger come 1-1-11. Promise.

Picture of the Day
Welcome to the Saratoga Springs boat harbor. We don't know how to spell. You'd think someone would catch this between the people who requested the sign and those who made it. Awesome.

picture a day - my big boys
Just before Halloween, we went to Gardner Village with Aunts Emily and Jenny and the boys were so pleasant with each other. This is pretty much how they are most the time - except for yesterday when Harry punched Luke in the nose and made it bleed!

Picture Day
I haven't seen the obligatory school pictures with the 1986 swirly blue background yet, but we snapped a few of my Lukester before school.
I took Harry's class pictures this year - I love my little muse.
